Welcome to the COPE© program instructor training,

I am delighted that you will become a facilitator of my evidence-based COPE© program, which has been shown to reduce anxiety, stress, depression and suicidal ideation as well as improve healthy behaviors and academic performance in children, teens, and young adults in over twenty-five studies in the last 3 decades. The program is now being used across the nation in all 50 states with reimbursement. It also is being used globally, including Canada, Australia, the U.K., Lebanon, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong. COPE© teaches key cognitive behavioral and mindfulness skills, including how to stop negative or unhelpful thoughts and start thinking and behaving in more positive ways. Each session of the manual-based program is taught “from-the-book” by the instructor in one-to-one, small group or classroom sessions. Therefore, it is essential that each recipient of COPE© receive their own workbook in order to achieve the same positive outcomes that have been generated through decades of research. As the instructor, you will also need your own COPE© workbook. We currently have the following manuals available: 7-Session Child (Ages 7-11) in English and Spanish 7-Session Teen (Ages 12-18) in English and Spanish 7-Session Teen + Headache Education Program (12-18) 7-Session Young Adult (Ages 18-24) in English and Spanish 7-Session Pregnancy Manual in English 7-Session Cancer Manual for Cancer Patients & Survivors 7-Session Adult (Ages 24+) 15-Session COPE© Healthy Lifestyles TEEN (Ages 12-18) in English and Spanish 7-Session MINDBODYSTRONG© for the Healthcare WorkForce Once you have completed steps 1, 2, and 3 below, we will review your results and issue you your license to facilitate the COPE© program.

Step 1 “The Webinar and Quiz”

Once you have finished watching the webinar, complete the COPE© quiz found on the Instructor Dashboard.  A 70% score is necessary to pass the quiz.

Session 1

Session 2

Session 3

To take the quiz at the end of the video you must fill in your First Name, Last Name and email. (Quiz required to finish certification)

To re-view without taking the quiz, hit Continue without Questions.

Session 4

Step 2 “The Practice Sessions”

Once you have completed the training webinar, you will need to complete at least five practice sessions or more with a child, teen or young adult of your choice (it can be your own child or a friend’s child). Practicing all seven sessions is optimal as the sessions build upon one another and will instill confidence in yourself as a COPE© instructor. There is a lot of purposeful repetition throughout the program to ensure optimal learning.
As part of your training package, 3 COPE© manuals are being mailed to you. The supplemental instructor guide will be available on your Dashboard under instructor resources. It is only a reference with some additional billing information, but it is not used to deliver the program. The program should be delivered with fidelity right from the COPE© manual.
Please allow 10 -14 business days for the manuals to arrive.

Step 3 “The Practice Delivery Results Form”

Once you complete the practice sessions, fill out the Practice Delivery Results Form which can be found on your Dashboard.
The Practice Delivery Results Form will trigger an email to COPE2Thrive that you have completed the training program. Once we receive this form, we will review your test results and electronically send your license. Make sure you review the instructor resources that are on your Dashboard.
Once you receive your license, please remember to deliver the program directly from the COPE© manual and encourage your patients or students to put the content that they are learning into daily practice for best outcomes. Completion of the skills-building activities that follow each session is key to successful outcomes.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions. Thanks so much for being committed to promoting the mental health of our children, teens and young adults, which is so needed in today’s world.
Warm Regards,

Bern
